You realize why that is right? Mirudraas is the offical translation of his name. Since DQ5 was never translated, they had to do a hard translation of his name of Maldrath probably by the japanese symbols used in his name. If the game was translated, Mirudraas is probably what it would have been translated to officially.

Nice video! This was my most favorite Dragon Warrier/Quest story yet to play. I would have never believed they released a few copies of DQ5 on SNES until I actually found a DQ5 (cart. only) selling on E-bay. Since it was going for almost $300, I did not bother bidding on it. :(

There's a reason he looks like Piccolo. The character designs in the Dragon Quest series are done by Akira Toriyama, the guy behind the Dragon Ball series.
